Faith and prayer can help lead to a healthier, happier life!
We live in a society today which tries to downplay or belittle people who believe in a higher power or miracles! "That's impossible", people say. "That's not scientific."
Well maybe you can not measure belief or God on a device found in a science lab, but there is solid evidence about gaining a healtheir, happier life through the power of faith and prayer.
In 2007, a study conducted by the University of Wisconsin-Madison Center of Excellence in Cancer Communications Research that was funded by the National Cancer Institute, found that prayer helped cancer patients. The study found that woman suffering from breast cancer, whom prayed online with one another had lower levels of negative emotions and higher levels of functional well-being.
Want more proof that prayer can compliment your life? In 2003, Newsweek magazine did an article entitled, "Faith and Healing". The article addressed whether or not having faith in a higher power or praying really made a difference in ones overall health.
The article reported that studies conducted with sick patients, using brain scans, showed people who meditated, had an improved immune system compared to those who did not.
Also, studies have been conducted that show people who do have faith in a higher power have lower heart rates and blood pressure, and are generally healthier than those who do not.
Religion and even spirituality can be a subjective thing. What makes a person spiritual or religious? Is it going to church every week or is it carrying the idea in your heart that out there, there is someone larger than you who has a purpose for you? At Start Your Healthy Life we do not want to force religion on anyone, but we do ask you to take the time to ask yourself, what do you believe in?
The World, despite its chaotic ways, still operates like a well designed machine. Have you ever wondered if we are more than chance? Do you not find it curious how everyone and everything is somehow linked, down from the bee and flower, to us?
Look at how our bodies run. Each of our parts perform a specific task and affects our overall system. Would you believe that a car, with its carburetor, engine and tires all just appeared out of nowhere? Would you believe it slowly began evolving into a Range Rover? No! Someone thought of it and worked on it until it was just right.
Keeping that in mind, would it seem so far fetched that we may have been thought of, planned or designed? There is nothing unintelligent or primitive in recognizing that you are just a small part in the grander scheme of things. If you want to know what your part really is, all you have to do is ask.
Seek and you will find. Don't discount those studies which showed that positive impact of belief and prayer. Just like staying fit, it takes work to find your destiny. Take the challenge. Have a little faith!
